Through more than thirty years as a professional singer, I have come to know the greatest names in the world of opera. In that world I have had the opportunity to speak about life, about singing, and above all about technique. That heritage I carry with me — to the great singers of today, and into my own work as an international singer.
The singer standing before me should never imitate anyone. Instead, the technique must serve to lift forward that singer's own unique voice. Together we build a toolbox — but it is the singer's toolbox, not the teacher's. My tools are only there to be observed, taken apart and reimagined, until the singer can craft their own. In this way, every student, regardless of level, becomes their own teacher and can keep building throughout a career.
Karl-Magnus Fredriksson works as a teacher and mentor to some of the most prominent voices in opera today. He is the vocal teacher of the world-renowned soprano Asmik Grigorian and has guided a number of other international stars in classical singing technique.
His teaching combines the technical foundation of the Swedish-Italian vocal tradition with a deeply musical, language-driven approach to text and interpretation. Whether in a masterclass setting or in individual lessons, the focus is always on freeing the voice, sharpening the mind and connecting technique to truthful communication.

Pedigree
His own studies took place at the University College of Opera in Stockholm (Operahögskolan i Stockholm) under the guidance of Court Singer Erik Saedén, and he later studied with the legendary German baritone and Kammersänger Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
